Abstract

The results of a study of the electrical contact characteristics of a composite powder material on a copper base with different contents of chromium carbide are presented. The electrical resistivity, hardness and electrical erosion wear of the studied samples are   presented in absolute values and in comparison, with similar characteristics of the reference material – electric copper. The effect of the sintering temperature of the carbide-containing composite material on its electrical contact properties, as well as the dependence of the electroerosive wear on the polarity of the sample (sample – anode and sample – cathode) was investigated.
