Abstract

The description is given of the design of a 6-position stand contained the models of liquid-metal contacts (LMC) by P. Claudi for the study of intermediate liquid-metal media based on gallium and its eutectic alloys for sliding electrical contacts. The stand allows to determine the transition electrical resistance of the contact of liquid metals with basic electrical materials (copper, brass L63, nickel, 12Kh18N10Т steel, etc.) in the temperature range 20…250 °C. A method for calculating the specific contact resistance of a liquid metal–solid electrode contact is proposed. The expediency and efficiency of preliminary mechanical treatment of surfaces of solid contact parts under a layer of liquid metal has been experimentally proven.
