Abstract

The system of criteria for ignition of fuel tanks of vehicles under the influence of high-speed fragmentation elements is justified on the basis of modern concepts of the theory of combustion of fuel-air mixtures in a turbulent flow. Gorenje is the physical mechanism of the process of near- and in-tank ignition of fuel vapor by a high-speed fragmentation element for fuel tanks protected by the vehicle skin is considered. Five criteria for igniting fuel tanks are presented, the fulfillment of which leads to damage to the fuel tank. A formula for the conditional probability of damage to compartments containing a fuel tank to the incendiary effect of fragmentation elements is presented. A structural block diagram of a mathematical model for calculating the conditional probability of damage to fuel tanks is presented.
